Actually, bagged milk is only used in certain provinces, such as here in Ontario. When some friends from out West came to visit, they thought it was weird that we had our milk in bags. Apparently they’re better for the environment because they use less plastic than those big jugs.
It is surprisingly difficult to find reliable information about milk bags. The comments following this Canadian Design Resource entry give a good sense of the geographical variation (and some strong opinions) of bags of milk.
I initially posted this pic for the lulz, but am I glad I can now say, “I learned something today.” I have gone to Edmonton and had milk in a bag though, but that was awhile ago.
